A bare wire cage stands out in a finished room. We built this wooden dog den with a pitched roofline and solid panels so it fits beside an armchair or a bed. The footprint stays tight for small dogs, with open steel bars on the sides so your dog can see the room.
We gave the top panels a house profile rather than a flat crate deck. It gives the room a softer silhouette when tucked next to an end table or in a bedroom corner.
The front door latches with two separate metal slide bolts. You slide both across the frame to keep the door shut while you are away from the room.
Adjustable feet screw into the base of the frame. They lift the bottom panel off cold flooring and let you level the crate on uneven rugs or floorboards.
We include chalk and magnetic silicone paw accents for the front panel. You can write your dog name across the face or stick a photo directly to the metal frame.
