Over the toilet, around the tank

The over-toilet cabinets stand on their own legs and straddle the tank, which makes the tank the thing to measure. Height to the top of the lid, width at the widest point, and the wall behind it for depth.

The width of each cabinet is printed in its name, and the clearance between the legs is on the product page. Those two numbers against your tank settle the question before the room does.

The tree in the corner

The tree bookshelf takes the one spot in the room no other shelf wants, the corner, and stacks its tiers upward instead of sideways.

Books lie flat on the tiers, a plant takes the top, and the floor underneath stays visible, which is why a small room reads bigger with one in it.

The entryway bench

The shoe bench does the two things an entryway is actually for. You sit on the leather seat to deal with laces, and the shoes get an address below instead of a pile by the door.

Measure the hallway before it arrives. A bench wants walking room in front of it, roughly a knee and a bag worth, or the front door starts opening into someone every morning.

The gym wall

The storage racks take the dumbbells, bands and mats that otherwise migrate around the house. One of them rolls, so the gym can pack itself against the wall between sessions.

Load the heavy things low. A rack, like a dog crate, behaves best when the weight lives near the floor.
