41" Rolling Cage with Name Tag

When a wire cage has already been bent out of shape, steel belongs inside the house where the dog spends the day. We build this frame out of heavy steel plates with support bars under the floor, then cap it with a wide wooden top so it doubles as a long console table. The roof line lifts up to give a tall dog headroom to stand and turn around.

Raised steel roof line

Tall dogs need clearance to stand upright without ducking. We framed an elevated roof section into the top steel tier, giving the interior extra vertical room while keeping the upper wood panel flat for lamps and books.

Fold down feeding window

A small steel hatch drops open on the side panel for water bowls and food dishes. You slide meals in through the opening without swinging the main door wide or letting a dog crowd the doorway.

Locking casters underneath

Heavy steel crates are miserable to drag across hardwood when dog hair collects underneath. Four wheels roll the entire cabinet away from the baseboard for the vacuum, then step locks keep it parked in place.

Front nameplate bracket

We mounted a small steel plate holder directly to the front gate. You slip a card with your dog name into the slot, which keeps the front looking finished without tape or hanging tags.
