Two crates take up too much floor when placed apart. We built this wide unit in oak gray to line up against one main wall, running behind a couch or under a television. It holds two dogs in their own bays, or one dog with the center divider left out.
Slide the center wall into place to split the interior into two separate sleeping quarters. Leave it out during assembly if one dog gets the entire length of the floor.
Each bay has its own front door and an extra side door. Two dogs can walk in and out on separate paths without crowding each other at a single entrance.
The wide wooden top runs the full length of the piece. It holds lamps, books, or a television, turning crate floor space into usable surface area for the room.
The bottom panel sits lifted on legs rather than resting directly on the floor. That gap allows robot vacuums and flat mop heads to pass underneath without moving the piece.
