When a strong dog works loose on wire cages, steel is the only material that makes sense. We framed this wide kennel with thick steel tubing and set a beech wood top over white panels so it holds lamps and bowls in the main room. Two doors give your dog entry from the front or the side.
We welded heavy steel tubes throughout the main box and both gates. The steel handles daily weight and scratching without bowing, while the white side panels enclose the lower corners.
Each entrance closes with two separate slide latches made of solid metal. You slide both into place across the frame to keep the gate flush and flat against the front uprights.
The side door mounts on the left or the right side panel during assembly. You choose the layout that fits your room corner before bolting the steel frame together.
Casters underneath roll this heavy piece out from the wall on sweeping days, and four locks keep it parked. The plastic tray slides out from the bottom floor for washing.
